What we install most

Three storm-door styles cover 90% of installs.

We install Larson and Andersen storm doors. Larson is our default — heavy-gauge frame, hidden retractable screen options, color choices that match most front-door palettes. Both are made in the U.S. and warrant the closer for life.

Most-installed

Standard options

What we install — and how we do it.

Itemized in your quote so you can see what each option costs. Most storm-door installs are stock units — custom color or sizing adds 2–4 weeks.

Brand
Larson Platinum or Tradewinds, Andersen Series 4-light. We pick based on color match and your front-door brand.
Color
White, sandstone, brown, or black stock. Custom powder-coat: 4-week lead time, +$120.
Glass option
Clear, Low-E, or tinted. Low-E is what we recommend for any south- or west-facing entry.
Screen
Retractable, self-storing, or fixed. Retractable is the most-installed by a wide margin.
Closer tension
We dial the closer to your front door’s swing weight at install. Most box-store installs leave it at default.
Hold-open chain
Adjustable. Catches the closer to keep the door open while you carry groceries in.
Lock type
Standard cylinder, deadbolt-grade, or keyless. Match your front-door key if you want.
Z-bar color
Matches the door — white, sandstone, brown, black. The frame the door hangs from. Visible from outside.
Financing

Pre-qualify in two minutes — without a credit hit.

We partner with Foundation Finance for direct contractor financing and Acorn Finance for an instant multi-lender quote tool. Most homeowners see 0% promotional or low-APR options for projects over $1,500. We walk you through both during the in-home measure.

Why Galve

What we do — and what we won't.

What we do
Galve-trained carpenters
Same checklist on every install. Workmanship warranted by Galve, not the manufacturer.
Trim re-used precisely
We cut casing to fit your existing trim. Most jobs, you don't repaint a thing.
One job per crew per day
We don't race between two installs. Yours gets the full attention it deserves.
Old door hauled away
We don't leave it on your driveway. Jobsite vacuumed before we go.
What we won't
Install a clear-glass storm over a dark wood door
Heat-trap. Cavity temps can hit 160°F in summer and warp wood or blister paint. We require a vented or retractable model.
Skip closer tension calibration
A closer left at default slams light doors and barely closes heavy ones. We dial it on every install.
Recommend a storm door if your porch is fully covered
If your front door is fully sheltered from rain and sun, a storm door is mostly cosmetic. We'll tell you that before quoting.
Pressure you on the measure
No 'manager calls,' no 'today-only' pricing. We text the price after the visit. You decide on your time.
We install across Saint Louis

Common questions

Storm-door questions, answered straight.

See more on our full FAQ.

Not always — but if your front door faces west or south, gets direct rain or sun, or you want a screen for shoulder-season air, a storm door pays back fast. It cuts UV fade on the main door, blocks wind-driven rain, and on a 90° afternoon the porch stops feeling like a furnace. If your front door is fully under a deep covered porch, you probably don’t need one.
Glossary

Storm-door terms, in plain English.

What we're actually talking about when we point at the door.

Brick mold
The thick exterior trim around your front door — what the storm door bolts into. If yours is rotted, we replace it before mounting.
Full-view
A single sheet of glass top to bottom. Maximum light. Pair with Low-E for sun protection on your front door.
Mid-view
Solid kick-panel on the bottom + glass on top. Best with kids, dogs, or anyone who leans on the bottom of the door.
Retractable screen
A screen hidden in the top or bottom rail that you pull down only when you want it. Glass + screen in one door.
Self-storing screen
Glass and screen both slide up/down inside the frame. No need to swap or store anything seasonally.
Closer
The hydraulic arm that pulls the door shut behind you. Has tension settings — we adjust them at install.
Hold-open chain
A small chain that catches the closer to keep the door open while you carry groceries in. Adjustable.
Kick panel
The solid bottom section of a mid-view storm door. Aluminum, vinyl-clad, or wood-look.
Z-bar
The Z-shaped aluminum frame the storm door hangs from. Bolts to your brick mold; the door hangs off it.
Quick win: a new storm door.
Most installs done within a week.
